It that time of year where we put together our Summer Select/All-star teams!
Summer Select teams are "try-out" teams that play tournaments during the
summer against other AYSO select teams from across the state. Select
teams are open to U10, U12, U14, and U19 coed divisions. Sorry... no U8s
or U6s. This email is to officially invite you to come and tryout for
your age division and play on a select team. The only other requirement
for eligibility is that you have been registered and playing on an AYSO
team for fall 2015 or spring 2016.
Trouts are ALSO open to AYSO XFC players if your XFC team won't be playing any summer tournaments before August.
Right now, AYSO has three tournaments scheduled and will most likely add one more - maybe 2. The current dates are as follows:
Cottonwood – June 15th-18th
Eden – June 22nd-25th
Clearfield – July 13th-16th
There will probably be another in late July.
Costs to play on a summer team are usually about $40-$50 per tournament
plus a new set of uniforms (2 kits) that usually run around $75.
With the first tournament in mid-June, we are going to hold tryouts on
Saturday, April 30th at the following times (after games that day):
1pm – U14 boys and girls - Down in the bowl (coaches Zach Ewoniuk and Chris Remy).
3pm – U10 Boys and U10 girls on fields 2 and 3 (coach Steve Service - girls, and Kris Kump - boys).
We'd like to have tryouts for U12 boys and girls, but we need a coach
for both teams FIRST. Right now, we don't have anyone who is available
to coach. If you currently have a U12 coach certificate or higher and
are interested, please let us know! Or, if you are willing to get a
certificate before June, we will get you trained.
U19 Coeds will get a separate notification regarding summer teams.
Please get the word out to everyone on your teams. We'd love to have a
HUGE turn out for our summer teams... and continue Sandy/Draper's
On another note, we will have several XFC teams to tryoout for at the
end of May. We'll send out tryout information very soon, so keep an eye
out if you are interested.
Let us know if you have any questions.

WHY CHOOSE AYSO over Other Programs?
AYSO's Vision is to provide world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.
AYSO's Mission is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs which promote a
fun, family environment based on AYSO's Six Philosophies:
The mission is accomplished by providing these essential services:
Coaching and referee programs including quality delivery systems
Quality administrative and operating systems with a support network
Strong financial position
Special network for volunteers, supported by a national staff
Just a reminder for you that all the coaches, referees, and board members are volunteers. During games, remember that the coach is the coach, the referee refs the game, the parents and spectators cheer the players on in a positive manner. Volunteers are always needed, let a board member know how you would like to help.
PARENTS! - Please take a moment to read the Parent's Pledge before your child's first game.
